Rome, Italy

Rome is located in the central part of Italy, and it’s home to 2.67 million people. The city of Rome is home to some of the world’s most important ancient monuments; some ancient monuments date back to 20 AD. If you are ever in Rome you must visit the Coliseum, which was constructed in 70 AD. The Coliseum is also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, held approximately 50,000 spectators. The Coliseum was built primarily to host gladiator and animals fights. A popular event that was held in the Coliseum was the 100 days of games. This event consisted of 100 consecutive days of battles. Rome is not only famous for its historic monuments, but it’s known for its delicious Italian cuisine. If you’re in Rome, make sure to try some mouthwatering Pizza Bianca. The Pizza Bianca is a focaccia style pizza that can be found all throughout Rome. But, Rome’s most popular dish is the Carbonara, which consist of egg, cheese, bacon, and black pepper. This dish is the staple of Italian cuisine. Rome has plenty to offer to anyone who enjoys exploring ancient history, or discovering new foods.

  1. Have you visited Rome? I haven't, but I enjoyed reading about it. You have chosen good vocabulary words. Remember to include pictures of the places, and even gladiators could be depicted.
